L1  1st year

Admission Requirements: Senior year High School level ( A1 level), minimum age 17.  Applicants must fill out the Registration File (cf. « tuition fees form » for details). Given the specific nature of training in visual arts fields, only the final year level of High School studies is required . Moreover, school records are not taken into account, as general secondary education subjects are not part of the First Year curriculum; teaching is devoted entirely to artistic and technical disciplines as well as method and aspects of the social sciences relevant to future professional practice and preparation for selective entrance examinations.

Registration for  First Year year opens on the first day of the annual “Open Doors” exhibition in March. Dates of « Open doors »: 26-27 March, 2010.

L2 and L3

For  admission to 2nd or 3rd year (License 2—Graphic Design/ Licence 2—Interior Architecture,  or Licence 3—Graphic Design/ Licence 3—Interior Architecture),

Admission is by selective examination during one session in June. The applicant must submit a registration file and portfolio of  works demonstrating  skills  acquired in the disciplines of graphic design/visual communication and/or interior architecture, design, drawing, and sketching.  The portfolio is evaluated for each candidate, taking into account student body capacity and qualifications for admission to Licence 2, or Licence 3.

M1 and M2

Admission to Master 1 (4th year) or Master 2 (5th year)  is accorded on the basis of selective examination as well as french degrees or certificates (Bac+3, BTS, DMA, DNAP) or, for foreign students, Bachelor of Arts or equivalency to Licence Level. An interview with the Directors is compulsory  prior to submission of the registration file and portfolio of works. Access to the 5th year is  open only to students who already hold a degree on the Master level (Bac+5, DNSEP,or DSAA) in an equivalent discipline and who envisage graduate studies. Foreign students must have sufficient working knowledge of the French language in order to take advantage of studies at ESAG/Penninghen.
