Languages (important)

Students must have sufficient working knowledge of the French language in order to take advantage of studies at ESAG/Penninghen.
Teaching is in French. However English is spoken by teachers and students. Tutors (French students designated by the school) will assist you during classes. Students who wish to study French are advised to enrol at the « Alliance Française » www.alliancefr.org

E.C.T.S.

The European Credit Transfer System is utilized at ESAG. 20 credits correspond to one term of study (full-time course work), 30 credits to one semester, and 60 credits to one academic year.

Courses

Courses are organized on a full-time weekly schedule. Study involves approximately 30 hours of workshops and 35 hours of home-work.
The third and fourth year of study is open to exchange students (Course Catalogs: L3AG3, L3AI3, M1AG4 and M1AI4). The duration of programs may vary, but a minimum of two projects per course are completed during each term. The students are not free to organize their study program. A weekly schedule has been set up to conform to the requirements of professional practice and incorporates a diversity of disciplines. In September and in January, a general introduction meeting will furnish all information on your schedule.

Housing

The school cannot make housing arrangements for foreign exchange students. Students must find a room or flat on their own. French housing legislation calls for one-year leases. Students who wish to stay only one term or one semester may have difficulties in finding short-term accommodation. List of addresses recommended by the school.
