Project

Program Interior Architecture and Graphic Design Art Direction BA3 Classes Architecture, illustration, Graphic Arts, Editorial Design.

A multi-disciplined and collaborative design project between our Graphic Design and Interior Architecture students Each academic year Penninghen organises an educational school trip to Venice for our 3rd year Interior Architecture BA Degree students, for them to study 20th century designers and architects such as Le Corbusier, Ando Tadao, Mies Van der Rohe, Alvaro Siza … Based on this rich and rewarding experience, we decided to put into place a collaborative design project between our two different design programs (graphic design art direction and interior architecture). With the main aim to create a contemporary and relevant editorial ‘object’, our Interior Architect students discovered how to develop a storytelling approach to their work and our Graphic Designers learnt how to work from a specific brief and to develop their art direction and project management skills. This project was adapted in both a printed format, as well a web site, e-book and associated application.
